Anyone know where this goes?

We pulled our 2014 V-Lite 26 WRB out recently to go get an inspection and found this spring on the ground under the trailer... I can't find any obvious place where this goes.

Ideas anyone?

Kind of looks like a brake spring although it might be a little long to be that and I'm not sure how it would have found it's way out of the assembly.

Does this unit have an auto level system installed?

If so, spring assisted retract?

Looks too large for the springs that hold the carpet mats on your steps. Looks like the end of the spring on the left has been stretched out in comparison to the end on the right.

I'm in Ford Idaho's camp with the retract spring on the levelers if it has them.

Afraid not. Power jacks, but no such springs on them that I can find.

Bummer, looks like a variable rate spring so I think it goes to something that moves.

Does your slide out use a cable system?

That spring looks awfully shiny and new to have been under your trailer and exposed to road grime for four years. Are you sure that it came from your trailer and that it wasn't just on the ground and unnoticed before you parked the trailer?

Did you ever try to change a muffler bearing with a left hand twist thumb adjusted speed wrench?

After much thought and pondering of the OPs original question I think F.R.O.G. had the right answer.

X2, mower deck spring. Do you have a landscape service where you park the trailer?

Anyone know where this goes?

Some slides have a spring that keeps the cords/harness out of the way. Was it near a slide?

Looks like a jiffy stand spring off a Harley. Some people call the kick stands.

Muffler bearing? You must watch the Chris Fix channel. He has a great amount of unusual information - that's where I first learned about blinker light fluid and the need to change it.I never knew my vehicles have muffler bearings also.
