Azdel in Flagstaff Micro Lite

The salesman at our local dealer told me the 2020 Flagstaff Micro Lites will use Azdel. We were planning on buying our first TT in March.

Is Azdel really worth waiting another year?

The Azdel web site list Flagstaff and Rockwood in their list of manufacturers.

I could not find a suitable floor plan. I needed the double double bunks in the 25BRDS. Actually I need the space, the bunks are coming out to build an office.

Our 269RBKS is our first Coachmen we have owned. The azdel seems to act as a nice insulator, cooler in summer and warmer in colder climates.

Here is a nice video from azdel and coachmen:

Traded our 2004 Chaparral in last year, the exterior looked almost as new. I’ve noticed other smooth sided units with delamination after five years.

I'm not aware of Coachmen using Adzel, back in 2003, when it was built.

Thumbs up Azdel? Yes!

I researched everything I could about what caused most long-term problems with Rvs, with water/moisture being at the top. I settled on Azdel & told my husband that was my #1, even more so than the layout. We took our time choosing a trailer, with Lance and Coachman Apex being the only 2 who used it when we settled on the Apex 212rb. We've had it over 2 years now and Azdel was a smart choice. We have over 100 nights in it.

I would to, that would be a positive move for them, but then the cost factor, Adzel is 7 x's higher in price then the same in laminated. Will FR gambel with a price increase to use that. Time will tell

The web site may say that,BUT Rockwood/Flagstaff has "Many Divisions and Types of RVs" Nowhere does it say they use it "Everywhere/Totally /Exclusively", heck they might just use it under the Refrigerator as a shim? Youroo!!

I followed the link provided by glsimms and the azdel sidewalls seem like a great idea but then scrolled down to see the floor construction. I'm certainly no engineer but using luan on the floor doesn't appeal to me at all. Seems too easy to damage from point loading etc.

Azdel on Flagstaff

I made an inquiry today regarding the use of Azdel on my recently built (11/1/18) Flagstaff trailer. They commented that "your unit would have the laun panel on the side walls and Azdel on the rear wall. Azdel doesn't have the strength as the laun so we have not switched on these."

That sounds like B'S, if you look at there web site it is stronger, but 7 x's the cost per sq ft. It's funny they only put it on the back wall, being that wall takes the most abuse. That is a good come back through. If it is weaker then why use It? Especially on the rear wall?
