Back to California from Indiana with our new Micro Lite 21DS
4,495 miles later, we are finally home with our new travel trailer. Saved a bunch of money and got a great shake down trip out of it. I do realize that getting warranty work will be near impossible. That's ok, as I did all the work myself on our previous trailer.
The only issue I ran into is with the microwave (certain numbers don't work when doing a timed cook). Got a hold of Magic Chef for warranty claim. Otherwise, everything else works great!

We drove from Napa, California to Chicago and back, to get our new Rockwood. FR found us local dealers willing to do the warranty work. We also could have used an independent RV shop or mobile RV technician. We just have to get pre-approval from FR and be willing to be reimbursed.
Never had any problems getting warranty work done, we just knew that we wouldn't be a the front of the line. We dropped it off in November and told them that we didn't need it until March. That way I got free storage also.

We just got a 2020 2104s. If we were retired we would have done that trip too. We got ours for 25k, how much did you save?

The cheapest we could get in California was $26,000 not including taxes, dealer prep, and destination charges.
We paid $23,600 out the door from Colerain Family RV in Indianapolis, Indiana. The price includef an upgrade to two Interstate 6v golf cart batteries.

We sure are enjoying the layout of this trailer, it's just so roomy and comfortable, its hard to believe that its only 22 feet long. Congrats on the new trailer.

I've only bought two TT's in the last 24 years. Took previous trailer to the dealer with a laundry list of warranty repairs. 60 miles of driving (total) and they kept it for two weeks. When they called and told me it was ready I went and ran through the list, checking what they'd done. Leaking windows had silicone sealer smeared on the edges, screw hole in the floor had some bathtub sealer stuck in it, and that was the sum total of the actual work they did. The rest was all explained away as "normal".
That was the end of having a Dealer do any work at all on my TT. My MicroLite had far fewer issues, the only one requiring a proprietary part being the pilot assembly in the oven. Rather than take it to the dealer for a "free" warranty repair and leaving it there for a couple weeks, I just ordered the part from another dealer and installed it myself. Total cost? Less than $20 including shipping and taxes. Gasoline to tow the trailer to the Dealer, going back and towing it home when ready, would have cost me at least twice that.
Buying a TT from a far away dealer would for me require a few days camping nearby and a commitment from the Dealer to address my warranty issues quickly so I could commence my trip home. That's assuming that there were any issues.
Enjoying a long trip home in your new TT sounds like a great way to get used to your new home away from home

Love our 21DS!
We too love our 21DS! The Murphy bed up during the daytime lets you feel you could actually dance in the thing there’s so much room.
I added a small collapsible butcher block shelf next to the stove, replaced the 3rd hinge with a catch for plumbing bypass access, mounted a small retractable shelf for spices between the stove hood and wood end of the TV/entertainment area, and mounted various hooks on the walls near the bed, added an additional double-gang 15amp outlet to the drivers side of the bed to charge Apple devices, and also mounted stainless steel coat racks side by side along the front of the Murphy bed support legs for hanging shoes and hiking boots!
We also outfitted the iRv entertainment system with a small adapter so that we can stream ANYTHING from my iPad Pro.
We camp with two large dogs and prep the dinette for their bed at night.
I did replace the factory shower head with Oxygenics head to boost the spray.
I have had NO problem with either QC or electrical build. I do keep a fully stocked tool box with electrical and plumbing (PEX) parts handy but have never had to use them.
Tows like dream, easy to park, and due to a great deal at a local dealership, ordered the way we wanted it, easy on the pocketbook too!

2018, ordered in September ‘17 with expected delivery in January but got it November 5!
Did a shakedown to New Orleans Feb of 18with stops in Buena Vista VA and Ft. Payne AL. stayed a week at Ponchartrain Landing RV park and Marina.

For BDNomad, I was a Chief Ranger with the NJ State Park Police. 26 years 2 months service! Retired on October 1, 2000.

Awesome! I was a Chief Warrant Officer in the Coast Guard. Retired five years ago after 30 years of service.

Good afternoon. Just another day in Paradise. Glad to hear good things about the 21DS & 2104S. I ordered a new 2104S a few weeks ago and can't wait to get it. I am down sizing from a 27RL. Sure look forward to getting it. Thanks for your posts,
