Battery Powered Tongue Jack not working
I apologize if there is already a thread on this, but when we picked up our Microlite 25 DS and were going to raise the hitch to attach to the truck, it didn't work when we turned the switch on. Then again it did work for a few minutes and since then we have had to handcrank up-and-down this weekend. Hubby checked the battery inside the camper and it says fully charged. Is there a way to determine if this is a battery issue versus something else before we take it to a dealer for repair? Thanks much. The battery was on the camper all winter but inside storage just FYI. Thanks much!

Do all the other 12 volt items in the RV work?
Do you have a battery disconnect switch? Is it turned on?
Have you looked near the front of the unit for a fuse inline with the jack power?
Do you have a multimeter? If so do you know how to check voltage with it?

You're talking about an electric jack.
a hitch is what connects the trailer's A-frame to your truck's hitch receiver.
Most likely it blew the inline fuse, as Bama said.

Yes, there should be a fuse between the battery and the jack.

Also, tighten up the bolts holding the jack to the frame. It may have a bad ground connection. Larry G.

I'd check the mounting bolt tightness, but if the light comes on, on the jack then you may have a bad motor or switch.
If it's still under warranty, it may be time to contact the dealer. If it's not, then it may be time for a new jack.

I had a similar issue with my Salem CruiseLite last summer. In 95 degree weather I had to hand crank. I was back at my storage place fortunately. When they checked it out, it was a couple of loose wires which were repaired. Not sure what wires or where but I'd check the jack for any loose wiring.

We had that problem.... twas a bit of rust/corrosion on the connection to the battery. Cleaned that... smooth sailing.

Loose Wires
Hate to suggest it but I think the FS employs 80 year old grandmothers to crimp wires with manual tools. Nothing like having a wire fall out of a crimp connector at the site. Like the American Express commercial, never leave home without it (tools, that is).

My 2015 Microlite had same issue. Found and INLINE 30 AMP Fuse, follow red wire from the jack back along the aframe of the trailer, mine was near the battery , left side. My 18v battery screwgun also worked when the manual cranking was needed.

Had similar issue with mine. Turned out to be a loose battery cable connection. Tightened and worked like a charm.

Electric tongue jack troubles
I had a TT with an electric tongue jack that started working intermittently. Turned out moisture had gotten inside where the fuse was housed near the battery (on my unit) and was causing the tongue jack to malfunction. I sprayed WD40 on the end of the fuse and reinserted it and that took care of the problem.
