Battery Tender Jr

This what I'm looking at.

http://www.amazon.com/Battery-Tender...attery+charger

Pros vs Cons?

And do I have to disconnect it if I flip on the AC power to the TT.

Looks like it comes with cables that can be left attached and just clip the leads to them. What would I use to cover the cables when not in use?

In the last 13 years I have bought 2 of these. The first one went out after about 5 years (I believe from a power surge/lightning strike). The replacement is still charging my Harley, my 4 wheeler, SxS, and zero turn mower(I rotate). It is well worth the $30, can't go wrong with a battery lasting 5-8 years in extreme temperatures.

Works great. I have a couple for motorcycles, the lawn mower and use it on the rv battery over the winter. Don't know about leaving it attached when turning on ac power and it comes with an attached rubber boot to cover the end that stays attached to battery.

The jr is great for power sports and lawn equipment but could only maintain a full scale battery. I'd get the full size tender that way if your battery is down it will top it up too.

And unplug any charger when you plug the rig in to shore power that way the charger and converter aren't fighting.

I have 3 of these on the AGM Deep cell batteries powering my 3 sump backup pumps. I tossed the chargers that came with the pumps as these are WAY better.

Make it 5 yes's ! And I got mine on Amazon too. I'd get the larger one for more than one battery... but they make a quality product that performs well. The extra pigtails they sell make it easy to maintain multiple batteries easily.

Great charger. Even the little one with enough time will charge the truck battery. I have two and the next time they go on sale at the auto part , I'll get another one.

Is this the best price I will be able to get?

Have you considered one that comes with the desulfator feature? Check out the battery minder brand before deciding! I have two and love them.

Hi timex, I can't say about your V Lite, but my 08 factory converter is a WFCO 3 stage converter, and it keeps my Interstate battery just fine. I keep it plugged in to shore power when it is at home, check the distilled water levels about every 3 months, and just this year replaced the battery. We used to do a lot of boondocking in the winter months Civil war reenacting in central Fla. I have 2 batteries- I put one inside the V nose in front of the propane tanks. Randy

Thanks Randy. Haven't studied up on what converter I've got. We don't go but about 3-4 times a year so I just need to keep my battery charged up in case I go in and need light and such. I don't usually like to keep it plugged into shore power with all the lightning storms(especially lately) even with my surge protector connected. Just another aggravation if something gets fried just sitting in my building!
