Caution - Cook Station Door

I purchased the 2015 Forest River Flagstaff Bunkhouse model 831BHDS on November 8th, 2014. When they did the PDI, I observed the cook station door to have screws that were screwed in crooked (see attached photos). The cook station door itself would shut but the left latch would not latch all the way down and the cook station door itself had a hard time locking. The dealer stated they would order a new door. The dealer received the new door on the second week of December and the technicians attempted to put the new door on today. I was told today that the door would not fit because during the vacuum bonding process the factory messed up. The dealer is in contact with Forest River to cut a very small section out the right side of the actual wall to make the door fit. They stated they will not start cutting until the manufacture tells them that they can. I was also told by the dealer that this does not void my warranty. Has anyone else out there had this issue with their outside cook station door?

Thanks!

I just got the call from the dealer stating that Forest River has authorized the dealer to cut that small section to make the cook station door fit.

Wow that was a real crappy job of installing those screws.

Caution - Cook Station Door

Did you ask them about removing and reinstalling those screws properly rather than cutting the edge of the door?

That's what I would try and do first.

We have the same camper bought it in May of this year. After bringing it home from the dealer we found water inside the rear outside kitchen. After drying the inside and doing my own water test I found that the water was coming in from the bottom left trim piece. It felt very lose and the screws were not put into something solid. So we took it to the dealer they contacted the FR. and approved the repair. Dealer pulled door off and replaced bottom wood support for the door trim. Resealed and have not had a problem. We love our camper.
