Center section of day/night shade in restringing process

Before I pull my hair out--please tell me how you're supposed to get the 4 strings & day shade back in the center rail of a 50' shade. The "rail" is a closed plastic piece where you can't cross the string inside the rail. The crossed string and day shade slide into a thin section on the bottom of the rail. Not hardly! Have been online most of yesterday and last night between trying to get this thing restrung searching for others with this problem. These shades aren't like the ones listed. It screws into the wall with two screws and one side had come loose from the wall. Diagrams of the center section aren't like this one. Hope I've explained this problem clearly. Help!!

Cool

The center rail should have four slots for the four strings to feed thru. They lay in the open and hard to manage untill you slide the upper or lower section back into place. I use 50' of string (really) when stringing. I work the strings back and forth thru the slot (sometimes several times during the process) untill I have slid all sections of the shade back together again. Additionally, I use a three inch thredding needle to help in the stringing process. Their is/was a link in this forum for this process, too. I will try my pix for you.

Wink Thank you?!

Since I'm working with the huge day/night shade I found one for a good price from a dealer. However, our camper has six other window day/night shades and I know I'll need your instructions in the future. The sun does a number on the strings! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!

For sure. I've had my 5r for 3 years now and as a full timer I've replaced 5 of them. I used this website to assist in identifying the string and then bought a roll of string on the internet.

The second link describes steps to determine the strings diameter. You'll need to copy and paste in the address bar of your internet browser.
