Considering a Mini Lite/Micro Lite

New to this forum so first off Hello everyone!

Wife and I are starting our shopping in earnest. We have looked at the Micro Lite 25BRDS and Mini Lite 2509S equivalent and really like them. Just curious if there's anyone out there that liked them like we do and cross shopped them with other brands/models?

I am of two minds about the laminated walls vs a corrugated unit. I do love the sleek appearance and the front window on the new units is great, plus the weight savings. We have a Jayco hybrid right now that has suffered some leaks (one due to a latent manufacturing defect several years out of warranty), so I am no stranger to delamination. Thankfully our issues have been mostly cosmetic, but it does weigh on my mind with a new camper purchase.

Just in case you don't know, the ones with laminated walls(filon)have aluminum framing.
The corrugated ones(known as stick and tin)have wood framing and aluminum siding, therefore are heavier.

DW and I purchased a Microlite 25BRDS in April. Have towed about 4k miles to date and no problems with the unit. We compared quite a few units and decided this was for us. We located a great dealer (family owned, not a big box store) about 45 miles from us, got a great deal as well as discovering the owner of the dealership and I have a lot in common. Good luck with your search and I know you will be pleased with one of the units you mentioned if that is the floor plan for you.

Wife and I are very happy with our Micro-Lite (we have the smaller 19fd). Be advised that some of these may need to have the fresh water tank supports beefed up if you plan on travelling with water in the tank. Not a big deal so long as you're aware.

Yes, I know. There are supposedly some corrugated campers with aluminum framing as well. I also equally know that typically the next layer underneath the filon/gelcoat is a nice sheet of cheap luan that can rot and delaminate.

We have had the Microlite 25brds for over a year. No problems so far and really like the floor plan. We opted for this model with the bunks since we take our three grandsons with us quite often. And when they are not with us the bunks double as some extra storage. No matter which one you choose

Almost 1.5 years with Mini Lite 2509S

We bought a 2018 (Flat front) Rockwood 2509S last year. We have been in it almost 50 days and have loved it. We have had minor issues (hot water heater controller, furnace fan noise, torn front jack cover, leaky showerhead, etc.) all covered by warranty. We boondocked about half of the time and was out last week camping in the sagebrush 16 miles off the paved road.

We have made a number of mods to it: Reflectix window shades, Maxflow on the front vent, outdoor thermometer, extension gas hose for the BBQ, body pillow to cover the "Hole of Doom" on the headboard of the bed, solar panels, changed out the compartment locks to match the door key instead of the famous CH751 key, and mounted the countertop extension on drop down hinges.

There are only two of us but we have the grandkids from time to time and we can sleep 6 of them in beds. We would do this again.

Good luck

Our Minilite 2109 has been running fine for 4 years and over 6000 miles towed with a Nissan Frontier. Would buy another without hesitation
