Digital Thermostat Conversion

I wanted to convert my analog thermostat to digital. My RV repair place says it needs a special adapter and costs over $100. I did a lot of research (Youtube) but my analog has six wires, the most I found were at most five. I figured out that the red wire is power, the yellow is for AC, the white is for heat, the grey and green are for the two different fan speeds but I do not know what the blue wire is for. In my home thermostat, the blue is common wire. Those that figured this out, please let me know how you solved it.

Blue would be the negative. You can buy digital RV thermostats.

If you have a Coleman AC they offer a digital replacement, I replaced mine on a Keystone Outback, it is wire for wire replacement.

If that is a Coleman Mach thermostat, and it appears to be, you can buy a digital Coleman Mach thermostat on Amazon, and it will be a wire for wire replacement and it fits perfectly over the contour of your analog one. It costs more than a Honeywell from a place like Lowe's or Home Depot, but like I say it will be wire for wire replacement. Quick and easy. And the digital thermostat does a much better job since it has a 1 degree variance before it cycles as opposed to 3-5 degrees of the analog one.

Thanks guys. This saves the day. I decided to go with the Coleman 8330-3862. It's an exact replacement and in black. I will let you know if I have any problems. Thanks for your replays.

That's the exact one I bought for previous trailer and will be ordering for this current trailer before it comes out of storage....a piece of advice for you...before securing the new thermostat in place after transferring the wires over...stuff a small piece of fibreglass insulation in the hole in the wall. The interior of that wall can trap alot of heat in summer and cold in spring and fall which could influence the readings that your thermostat picks up from the ambient air. By insulating that hole it helps in the thermostat picking up a more accurate reading of the air temp inside the trailer.

I installed my Coleman 8330-3862 yesterday and it works great, at least the heat. To cold to test A/C. Thanks for the help and tips. Headed to FL next week and hoping not to use the furnace much.
