Keyless entry sounds OK but as a retired industrial maintenance dude, my
first thoughts were along OC and others comments.
KISS. Keep it simple stupid.
When we go out- hiking or bike riding or motorcycle riding or shopping-
I'm gonna have a key ring with me anyway so one more for the trailer
isn't an inconvenience.

Off topic sort of but was mentioned earlier- my next door neighbor asked
me to give him a hand last week. His gun safe push button combination box
was not working.
This is a very heavy "fort knox" type gun safe.
When he showed it to me he just pulled the box right off the front of
the safe door
It had a little circuit board on the back and 2- 9 volt batteries on it and
4 tiny wires leading inside the guts of the door.
One of the wires had pulled out of the tiny circuit board plug.
While I was looking at that I noticed the battery clips were loose.
There were cold/broken solder joints on the board where the battery
connections were located.
I took the board home to my magnifying light on my workbench and
used a pencil point soldering iron to fix the solder joints and the
loose wire.
I sent him to the store for 2 lithium 9 volts so he wouldn't need to
mess with it again for many years.
With new batteries he is now back in business.

That safe had to cost a bundle but the push button circuit board looked
like it was made in China on a bad day by a new hire!
Gimme a good old fashioned lock thank you very much!

Follow up thought-- that safe was fire proof but that push button box couldn't be!!
