Electric fireplaces

What are the make and model on these in a 2016 Flagstaff 8528 IKWS? I never got a info with it. Fire place turns on and gives off heat but heat and fan will not turn off when temperature is reached.

Mine is an AKDY fireplace heater which has 5 heat settings, but like yours does not turn off when the desired room temp is reached. I suspect it is a faulty thermostat inside the fireplace.

Yes this is what I thought. I need a manual to see how to remove the fireplace and get a thermostat.

Mine has the little knob that you set to the temp. It's notoriously inaccurate! So, when the temp. gets to where I want, I just turn the knob down until it shuts off. I may have to keep playing with it a few times until I get it to where it will come on when the "room starts to chill". If you have the digital type, will adjusting to a lower number turn it off?

Mine is digital. It doesn't turn off if I set lower temperature.

How do you set the temp?.....on the fireplace control panel itself or on a remote for the fireplace?

We had a digital remote in our stick & brick house and the remote was the thermostat. If I set the temp. then put the remote away in a closed cabinet, the heat would not turn off because it stayed cooler in the closed cabinet.
I had to leave the remote out in the open air of the room for it to sense the air temp. to turn off & on.

They don't shut off right away. They are designed to run for a minute or so to cool the heating element, then shut off.

In addition, the shutoff for temperature and the shutoff for the visual effect are different. The fan and the heating element will cycle with temperature, the visual effect will not. If you want that off as well, you need to turn the whole thing totally off.
