Entry door latch

We are on our first trip with our 2012 831BHDS and the door latch on the front entry door is hard to operate and get to latch.

Now DW informs me it wont latch at all...i am at work today..
any suggestions on how to adjust the latch plate?

Ours just has 2 screws that you loosen and then move the plate,then tighten up.

On the inside of the door. Loosen the whole latch assembly by backing off a bit on the screws that hold it to the door. Adjust by sliding a bit so that everything lines up with the striker plate. Re-tighten screws. Worked for me.

Thanks for the tip. Got the latch to work better but the dead bolt bar fell out when shutting the door. Making appt with dealer to repair that and a few other minor things discovered during our shake down trip
