Exterior Cable TV/Satellite IN Connectors

Hoping someone from the Flagstaff factory monitors this forum!!

Have a 2014 Flagstaff 5th wheel and have a question that the dealer cannot answer. Between the CABLE TV F-connector and the SATELLITE IN F-connector on the rear/side of the trailer is a small female mini-jack. What is the purpose of this mini-jack? Here are the photos

Maybe audio in from iPod, or audio player.

That was what I thought but my unit had the "audio in" on the head unit inside the trailer. Besides you'd not want to have your electronics plugged in outside and on what would likely be the street side (non frequented / supervised) side of the trailer. So I discounted that theory.

Then I thought "audio out" for small outside speakers. But then on his 5th wheel he'd likely have outside speakers on the curb side under the awning so no need for speakers on the street side unless one wanted music while dumping.

It could be a jack for low voltage power, but to power what?

So this remains a mystery for me too. Were I the OP I would contact Customer Service and see if I could get a picture to them in support of the question.

Your dealer should know, note I said Should. You may try to stop in a Best Buy as they have all the tech gadgets to find out what it is.

Have you pulled the plate and noted what type of wire is hooked up to the small input jack?

There is writing behind the labels, can't make out what it says. That may be a clue.
On edit, never mind it doesn't help.

I specifically asked this when I picked up our new camper this weekend. Dealer's tech said it was a screw hole for a cover plate on certain models of camper. Ours just don't have a cover plate.

Mystery solved. Yes, it is a threaded hole for a cover on some of the Flagstaff models. I received the following from the Flagstaff factory via e-mail.

"There is no jack in the middle of your cable satellite hookup…………that is actually a threaded hole for the cover that goes on the hookup."
