Fire alarm goes off when I turn on my furnace
New Flagstaff E Pro 19FD.....prepping it for the season, tested furnace, after about 3-4 minutes the fire alarm went off. I did not see or smell smoke. Could it be that new unit might have some oil or other material to burn off as new unit? I shut it down..and it continued to run for couple minutes but alarm went off. Assume the fan may run for short period of time when you shut it off.

Your dealer should have told about burning off the manufacturing oils BEFORE using the RV.
You need to open the vents and windows to get rid of the gases.

Open all windows and door and run the furnace for 30 mins or so. Dealer should have told you this.

Better safe than sorry: Are you sure it's the smoke detector? Be sure it's not the carbon monoxide or propane detector.

First time for RV heater
We had that trouble with the first time we used our heater on our maiden voyage. And if our dealer warned us (which I don't think they did) it got lost in all of the other material gone over during the walk-through. I figured out the problem pretty quickly, but it did cause a moment of concern.

Yes, the fan runs on for several seconds after the furnace flame is extinguished. This serves two purposes: - Scavenge that last little bit of heat, and
- Purge the firebox of any residual combustible fuel.

Everything is fine now with furnace
As posted in replies, I found after running for 10 minutes or so everything was fine. Must be some dust, oil or other substance which needs to be burned off. Every new owner should do this, Dealer never mentioned this to me.

One more example of a shoddy PDI. The dealers are really slipping these days.
I'm guessing you may come back with some other things he never told you about! Some things that seem to get missed:
Battery Disconnect switch
Water Heater bypass valves
Manual slideout operation
LP gas tank regulator auto-switchover
Others will add to the list.
