Fireplace Installation?
Do you like your electric fireplace, if your camper came with one? If you didn't get one with it have you or would you go to the expense.
If you have done it what brand and model please of electric did you get and how deep was it from the mounting surface back? Looks like I've got is a 28" x 22" x 5" deep and probably not more than 7" in front of the mounting plane before a interferrence with the slideout will happen

We love ours!
I'd definitely put one in a camper without one.
On those cooler nights it heats to a perfect level without using the furnace so much.

We had no clue our fireplace would put out so much heat. Love it.

I was one of those guys who thought the electric fireplace was just a gimmick. Until we bought our Cedar Creek unit. Now we would not be without an electric fireplace in a camper. We have used the fireplace on many a cool mornings to warm up the living area of the camper without turning on the furnace. This will heat the living area to a comfortable temperature in just a few minutes.
If you can added one it is will worth the effort and cost to add the fireplace to your camper. This will save you money on propane usage in the long run. When you just use the fireplace to heat up the living area on cool mornings and evenings, without turning on the furnace.

I also was one that thought why a fireplace in a camper. Just looks or what. Well now that my new camper has it we love it. As mentioned will take out the chill without using furnace. Later RJD

I have been in some of the trailers with the fire places they do put out good heat. Would like to have one myself post some pictures if you put one in.

A fireplace even makes watching a war movie seem romantic! Highly recommend one.

We haven't turned on the furnace yet as the fireplace works so well. I was also one that thought it was a waste of money and space in the beginning. Started trying to figure out how to replace it with something else more useful....till we turned it on. Plenty of heat. Couldn't care less about the flames and burning logs, just the efficiency of low power heat. Let the CG pay for your heat and not your own propane supply.

I remember the 1st time I saw a "fireplace" in a trailer at a show. I thought
NO WAY!! Until we bought a rig with one. Saves dragging out the space heater and has the same amount of heat watts so "yeah" glad to have it.
One gripe- the default brightness is full on bright. I always have to turn it
on and keep hitting the button to get it to dim down to lowest brightness.
In fact I wish I could shut off the light completely unless I wanted it on.
Your TV or stereo doesn't default to full on volume why should the fireplace??

We've owned 12 Rv's and our Wildcat MAXX is the first with a fireplace. I now realize what I was missing. Never again will I own a RV WITHOUT the electric fireplace. It's a great addition to any unit!

We love our fireplace. We will need it when we are in New York next fall. It gives enough heat so you don't need to use your furnace and Propane.

Add an intake
I discovered the addition of any kind of vent to allow air to enter the cabinet will help air flow. This is my second fireplace and this one had less room in the rear than our previous Open Range rig.
Pull the unit out and check the "box" it is mounted in for a place to cut a hole and place any choice of vent cover (like a floor register) so air can be pulled into the fireplace unit. Mine have both drawn air from the top which is behind the wall of where it is mounted.
Both units proved the needed air by holding Kleenex/paper against the register after it was installed. More air can now be used by the heating unit keeping it from overheating and shutting down.
