Flagstaff Micro Lite versus Rockwood Mini Lite?
Hi Forum!
I am actively researching our first travel trailer for our family of 4. We really like the Rockwood Mini Lite 2306, but now I've found the Flagstaff Micro Lite 23LB and I cannot figure out what the difference is between these two units?!
Can you tell me from your experience what the difference between the Rockwood Mini Lite versus the Flagstaff Micro Lite?
And also, do you like yours?!
Thanks!
Erica

Flagstaff and Rockwood are twin brands.
Made in the same factory.
Only differences are outside graphics and interior decor design.

What Dan said, plus I'll add this, my non-scientific research has found you'll likely get a better buy on a Rockwood than a Flagstaff as it would appear there are more Rockwood units built (vs Flagstaff) and there seems to be more Rockwood dealers. More inventory = a better chance of the dealer wanting to make a sale. Then again, I may be completely wrong. I paid a few bucks more because I liked the Flagstaff dealer WAY BETTER than any of our local Rockwood dealers. Glad I did too!

We purchased the Micro Lite 23FB this past March, as mentioned they are the same as the Rockwood.
My local dealer carries the Flagstaff version so that's why I purchased the ML.
Great little trailers, we had a blast all season and no issues at all (accept learning how everything worked )

Yep, way more Rockwood dealers than Flagstaff dealers.
And there are way more "wholesale" dealers that sell Rockwoods.
I only know of one "wholesale" dealers that sells Flagstaff, RV Direct. Funny thing is that they also sell Rockwoods too.

I bought the Flagstaff Micro Lite version. One dealer had 2 location where I was shopping. One location sold the Rockwoods and the other sold the Flagstaff. I played them against each other and the Flagstaff guys were hungrier and gave me my price. Great trailer..you're making a good choice!

I got a good deal on the Flagstaff. Rockwood dealer was way higher. I have 30,000 miles on mine. Great trailer.

Just as everyone else said, they are both the same made on the same assembly line side by side. They just pull different colored caps, sides, decals and fabrics depending upon what's on the work order attached to the trailer tongue. I loved my 21DS.

Before buying ours, we checked a number of dealers. One dealer told us that FR requires dealers for a brand to be more than 50 miles apart. So to get around the distance limit, a dealer will take on the other brand. We were talking to a company that carried both but in two locations. Unfortunately for us, the Flagstaff dealer was farther away from home. We ended up finding another Flagstaff dealer very close to home that gave us the price we liked. Helped that surveys had found the near home dealer had a very high rating from prior customers.

We purchased a used 2012 Flagstaff Microlite 21 fbrs because we were able to get a really good deal. Just returned from a 5 month trip, left Tampa, FL and went to Lake Elsinore California and back. We met a lady in Bishop, CA with a Rockwood Mini Lite, she loved it. They are plenty much the same trailer.

Funny.... I just made a thread in the Rockwood forum asking the same exact thing 2306 vs 23L. No one wants to really carry the smaller units here in Myrtle Beach just large slide out units or 5'ers.

We (family of four, kids ages 7 and 4) bought a Micro Lite 23LB in June--our first rig. We've had no issues so far and we're having a blast with it.

Hey DisDad01! Did you consider the Rockwood Mini Lite as well? Did you see any differences? I felt like the interior decor of the Flagstaff appeared better quality, but I'm not sure. I see yours has a front window. I'm wondering why the ones we are looking at (2017) are windowless in front. Maybe because we are looking at the Murphy bed model and you don't have that? I think that we are going to be happy with this size because it doesn't outsize us out of campgrounds, but do you ever wish it were larger? Glad to hear that you love it!

We had a 2013 Flagstaff 23LB for 2 camping seasons. Great trailer and never had any problems. Only reason we got rid of it was because we wanted more room. We did not have the murphy bed and the only place to sit inside when the weather was bad was either the dinette (not very comfortable for a large size person like me) or lay on the bed. We simply decided to get more room.

Yes we considered the Rockwood as well. We bought our Flagstaff used in 2013. As others have indicated I think quality is the same between the two.
You are correct we don't have the Murphy bed so we get a window up from. Wife loves the front window.
As far as going larger, really the only thing I wish it had was a couch. When we watch tv the 4 of us sit on the bed. It is hard to see the tv well from the dinette (tv angle). We are currently looking to go bigger. Kids are soon out growing the small bunks. My 14 year could no longer get into the top bunk so we switched them this year and now my 9 year old is on top. She can't finally climb up herself. We don't have a ladder.
Enjoy

I had the same question as the Rockwoods are cheaper in my area by about $1500 figured there had to be a difference. If you go to the manufactures site and download the brochures, they are identical except for pics of the campers, even the factory pics are the same. Anyways, somewhere in there is the matrices of options, like 200 of them, all identical.
One thing that I can't get past, this flooring on the Flagstaff, the Rockwood only comes with wood or wood tile:
I dislike the look of cheap vinyl wood like floors. I imagine they use it to hide dirt, but I want to know when the floors need sweeping.

One thing to keep in mind is the slide out will move across the floor in most of these trailers. This means you need to sweep just before you pull in the slide and/or will at some point get something stuck between the slide and floor. So look for colors/patterns in the floor which will hide the inevitable scratch or gouge when it happens.
