Flagstaff or Rockwood V-nose

Trying to order hitch before trailer arrives and found out some have "underslung" couplers as opposed to the coupler welded up on the top of the Aframe.

Looking at dealer sites shows 2015/2016 are standard welded up top. I did see a used 2012 with an underslung though.

Factory guy is out of office all week so that's out. Hate to have trailer come and no hitch. Dealer can't be trusted to supply a good hitch that I want. Been there and done that.

What do you have? Over of under?

Have 2014 WJ & my coupler is underneath. Friend also has WJ & it too is under. I went with the Blue Ox SwayPro hitch & really do like it. Works well & very easy to set up & use.

I have a 2013 Windjammer with the coupler underneath. I use an Equalizer hitch with no problems.

My 2016 Rockwood Windjammer 3029W has the coupler below. I am using a Husky Centerline WDH.

The 2016 WJ I ordered has the coupler below. I was looking at the manual for my current Equal-i-zer hitch and it shows putting the link plates on the trailer frame in the upside down position for V-nose trailers. So, the underside coupler must be pretty much the standard for the V-nose trailers.

Not true. V-lite come with the coupler on top and so much better to work with when using WDH. Later RJD

I have to Laugh, the replies are like all the other Posts about Top or Bottom mount couplers! It is 2016 and they still are not Standard? Ours is Bottom and use a Reese Dual Cam! Some of the Members have said they have a 2016 and they have the Bottom Type, are they in the driveway or is that a guess? Youroo!!

Good thing they make hitches that will work on top & bottom; not sure about side mounted.

Now, Now boys!
Interesting post...I did a google search to discover not all V-Noses are created equal. It seems whatever hitch assembly is on the production line that day/week is what gets wielded to the nose frame -top or bottom. As long as it holds and does its job.
Is there really an advantage/disadvantage to top vs bottom? Just wondering.
93 degrees here today I like aceinspp solution
Happy trails

This should be good.

BTW The coupler on our Super-V is..................... on the top. No doubt it is the best. Although the side mount does intrigue me. Probably much less sway.
