Flagstaff Stock Tires

Expecting delivery of a new 832 BHIKWS in early March. Was curious if anyone has opinions on the stock tires and/or any success negotiating an upgrade from the factory through the dealer. If so, what would be the recommended upgrade?

I have the rockwood 8329SS which is the same as the Flagstaff 832IKBS. Yours seems to similar to these as far as size and weight. I switched from factory C load tires to Maxxis D load. This has improved the handling of the TT. It does not bounce and wobble like it did. I don't have any experiences with working with dealer as I did this after a year after purchase because the weight of TT nearly maxed out tires capacity. I truly believe one tire was overloaded it always looked more squashed than the others.

Thanks for the info! The dealer rep states that it will come with D rated tires. So, I asked if it was possible to factory or dealer upgrade to E's. No and No. it's hard to believe they would ever put C on these. Seems like it could be a potential liability, certainly if under rated for GVWR. Another list item for the PDI along with axle rating!

Yup, mine came with the D-rated tires. They are posted as speed rating L max 75 mph. Didn't try getting anything different, I used my ammo to get the couch deleted for credit.

Agree with the upgrade. Normal air pressure for "C" rated tires is 55 psi, for "D" rated it should be 80 psi.

My ST225/75R15 LRD tires have a spec of 65 PSI, Looks lie all the Lions Head / Castle Rock D rated tires are 65PSI. Load range E is 80 PSI.

update

I just bought my 5th and will be changing them out for Maxxis tires before going out this summer. They are the Maxxis 800 series they are rated E, these tire are made for 5th and they have a good reliability factor., I have heard a lot of bad info on the castle rock brand that came with my trailer would stay away from them.

Thanks for the info! I'll check the brand next Wednesday when we take delivery.
Bought a good jack that will give me some confidence to make it one year on the stock D rated ones before upgrading next spring before my bumper to bumper warranty expires.

In reality, none of us should want to take delivery of a new trailer with the factory-installed tires.

There is no way to determine what degree of care the delivery driver had for them, and they may have suffered outright abuse in transit to your dealer.
