FM antenna

On my new trailer, the FM antenna was mounted too close to the TV antenna. When turning the TV antenna it hits the FM antenna. What would happen if I cut about a foot off the FM antenna in order to make it lower than the TV antenna?

Can you just bend the FM (I assume also AM) antenna near the tip just enough to clear? CB antennas are very delicate in that deptmtn., but the length would still be there and only a bit of angle would change.

I assume the antenna doesn't adjust at the base so it could be leaned back?

I'm out of McAllen, TX, and need every bit of antenna I can get to get English AM stations. Must go through customs just to get to Corpus Christi.
