Fuel mileage increase with V Lite trailer

We will be getting a new trailer in the near future. We recently looked at some of the V Series trailers at a RV show. The salesman was quick to point out the increase in fuel mileage with the V trailer but he is a salesman looking to make a sale. We like the V series for the increase in interior space and will probably get one for that reason.

To those with a 28 - 30 foot V type trailer, did you notice any increase in fuel mileage over what you may have previously got with a conventional shaped trailer?

Looks and usable space,didnt see any fuel saving over the 30 ft. KZ Frontier that we had. Youroo!!

This is our first TT. (vcross 32vbhs) Not sure if the fuel mileage is ok but I do know that pulling down the road it handles great. The v-shaped front seems to help and you get added space. We love it. Don't let the RV show sweet talk ya. You can get it cheaper somewhere else. We've been through that.

i haven't read of any noticeable gain in fuel mileage, by any v-nose owner.

if there is any, it would be minimal at best.

I had a 230RS Outback. I now have 3001W Windjammer. Lots more trailer. About the same if not .5 to 1 mpg lower. But again a LOT more camper.

Our first TT so I can't compare. But the Windjammer pulls easily. Kitchen up front so lots of space throughout.

Sorry but my first trailer also. Wfkss30 vlite. TV is a gasser 6.0 2011 Chevy with Allison and 373 rear end. We get about 7.5 at 65 mph. Nothing to brag about with the mpg for sure but love the trailer. Good luck!!

Haven't seen mileage increases but it does pull and handle nice. The added space is great too. Also, I saw mine at a show, sales people were nice, truthful. After some serious price shopping and negotiating with a few "more local" dealers, I ended up going back to the shoe dealer and getting it from them. Bout three hours away from me but was worth it for the savings.

They have some really nice layouts. They seem awfully heavy though?

We went from a 25ft Coachman/small slideout to 2011 vlite 30wrlts which is 34ft long. Gas mileage stayed about same,much more space especially hanging clothes in vfront. We have a 2009 chev 2500 heavyduty,6 speed allison trans get between 9-10mpg to Florida and back average from Indiana. A little above 10 at 55mph in flat ground in Indiana. Explore joining the NOMADS group doing volunteer mission work many places in the US, sponsored by United Methodist Church.

We traded our 2007 Outback 21rs for a 2012 flagstaff v-lite 30wfkss and we went from 6 to 8 mpg to around 9 to 10. So while not a lot of difference but considering we went from 22 feet to 34 feet i think we did pretty well.

We went from a 33' Edgewater to the 34' V-Lite and picked up about 1 to 1.5 mpg that we have seen. I am hesitant to say that the V-Lite really is any better as we only towed the Edgewater 4 times before we traded it so headwinds etc could have been in play.
