I have the same camper and just got a similar Yamaha generator. I was also concerned about storage and the gas smells. We have used it a few times now with absolutily no smell at all.

I have a Flagstaff 8528CKWS with a Yamaha 2000i genny and I store it in the basement storage. It has never leaked and I have never smelled any fumes.
