Harvey

Looks like we are in path of Harvey with 115 mph winds. We are staying house but not sure what to do about camper. Should I leave levelers out on ground or pull them up?

Please stay safe.
At 115 MPH winds... it won't matter about the stabilizers/levelers.

Any chance you can get your camper to a covered shelter (maybe pay 1 months rent on a covered RV storage site?

If you can't I would go to Harbor freight and get several of the biggest tarps you can find to cover your camper and yes, I would leave the stabilizer jacks (they are not levelers) down, all slides in and wheels chocked.

Even better, consider hooking up to your TV and bugging out of town before the storm hits - that's what I would do.

I'm going to respectfully disagree with Bob's suggestion in his second paragraph.

Covering your camper with tarps isn't going to help any at all with windspeeds 100+ MPH. In fact, at 50-60 MPH, tarps whipping in those kinds of winds will permanently mark/damage your camper. You'll never be able to tie them or get them tight enough not to.

Hurricanes and 115 MPH winds are nothing to mess with. It WILL destroy trees, houses, sheds, R/V storage areas and campers.

The best advice is to get out of harm's way with your belongings.

I completely agree! I was offering a bandaid when the obvious solution was to hook up and bug out....which I am happy to see the OP Did
