Heated Tank Question

So with this new camper came an option of "Heated Tank(s)". Now, I know what "heated tank(s)" means, but my question is this: When I was doing the PDI and we came to the switches - the heated tank switch! The salesman tells me that ONLY the black tank is heated when the switch is on. Is this really the case with a factory installed heated tank option?

Assuming for a moment this is true, what sense does that make? If it's going to come with a "heated tank" option, why wouldn't they heat the other tanks? Seems to me the fresh water tank would be more important to keep from freezing than the black water tank full of chemicals.

Anyone know?

Once again... Dopey Dealer Syndrome.

My Flagstaff has 3 heating pads (Black, Gray, Fresh water).
Some models with exposed plumbing also have joint pads as well.

Thanks for the response Herk. My TT's underbelly is fully enclosed, any idea how best to verify heating for all tanks?

Without dropping the belly:

If you had a battery monitoring system you could look at the total amps flowing out of the battery with it on and off; comparing it to the draw per pad from the manual I attached.

If no battery monitor, find someone or rent an AC ammeter and convert the increase in AC amps to watts and use that number to divide by the watts per pad.

Drop the belly covering:

If you decide to drop the belly, I HIGHLY recommend replacing your tank probes (at least the black and gray tank ones) when you do. It is a lot of work getting it down and putting it back up. I had to buy a "creeper" to work on my back to do the job.

Thanks again! Not sure I'm going to go through the belly drop right now but I will see about getting my electrician buddy to check the amps.
