Best source of rubber for under a battery is a piece of mud flap. Also good idea to put the same over the top of the battery so its protected from shorting due to dropped tools ar the like.

Seems like an easy issue that should have been caught at the factory or dealer.
Hmmm...the self-tapping bolts (my hubby just told me that's what they are called in my battery case...) on mine were in the RIGHT place (the depressed areas), but still, they were too high. At any rate, you would think that the dealerships would get this right! Looks like a no-brainer to me!

Again, glad you got a new battery.
Did you change out the "Too high" bolts or are you just putting in the rubber to cover up the mistake?

We just put a rubber mat inside, but it's pretty thick and would take A LOT to go through it. I think it's going to work very well.
