I just bought a 2012 Microlite 25KS

My wife and I just bought a 2012 Microlite 25KS.

We are so excited.
Picking it up on Friday and heading straight to the campground with it!

Any tips?

I hope it treats you as good as our trusty 25DS has treated us! I have not seen your floor plan before, let us know how you like it.

We bought ours in Feb and love it. Just wish we had more free time to use it.

Do you have any complaints?

Seems like that Murphy bed, maybe a little tough to make.

Get a good mattress cover that fits. That has seemed to help. It is a bear to make up, just climb up on it and work from front to back. It's worth the trouble for the extra floor space you get. And what a bathroom!

Hi all,

I have a question about Micro Light 25DS travel trailer and really appreciate your help. The dry hitch weight of the travel trailer is listed as 325 lbs. I was wondering what is the loaded hitch weight? Also, in your experience, how have you liked the camper?

Thanks a lot!

Hello and welcome to the forum! Congrats on the new rig! We will be taking delivery of our Mini-Lite 2503s here in a couple weeks or so! Let me know how you like your 25ks Micro! (Twin to our Mini)

We love our 25KS. You will love the Murphy Bed (it's like 2 floor plans in one) and the oversized bathroom. Feels just like being at home.

Couple pieces of advice.

Be careful about putting stuff near the head of the bed. It's easy to drop stuff behind the bed, but a bit of a pain to retrieve it. I.e. pajama's and really thin pillows, cellphones and glasses. Use the drawers!

Buy a X-Chock (find on amazon or ebay) There is a lot of front and back movement with that heavy bathroom in the back. It will help it out.

Good luck draining the fresh water tank. That drain is between the tires, behind the frame rails. Need a pretty good reach to get to it.

There is a roof vent directly over the bed. If you like to sleep late, figure out a way to cover it, or that sun pours in pretty early.
We rigged a "Car Window shade for Babies" over the vent

Finally, BEFORE You Flush the toilet, make sure the exhaust fan is TURNED OFF. If you flush while it is on, it will suck those nasty gasses right out of the black tank, and stink for a few minutes.

I think that is all I got from our first 8 trips.

Good Luck and have fun!

Glad you like the 25ks! The Murphy bed and the huge bathroom is what drew us to the Mini. Thanks for the tips! I wouldn't have thought about items falling in and behind the bed until it was too late. I'll have to pick up the x-chock. Would one be okay or should I get the two pack?

We bought 2 x-chocks but found a good deal. You could probably get by with 1

we purchased a mini lite ETC 181 which has the murphy bed. We dont have the couch but instead have dinette under murphy with aluminum frame so similar weight overall. Our tongue weight is 457 on CAT scales when fully loaded. Dry tongue weight of 365. You should expect similar increase. Our tank sizes are the same and typically on the road with 1/3 tank of fresh water but gray/black empty.

We love the layout of the 25ks/2503S but it is too much trailer for our old 2002 Tundra 4.7l. Enjoy your new toy

forgot to mention .. we use the Geo method to manage the black tank. This uses mix of Calgon/laundry soap and water to ensure slippery surface in tank to ensure tank probes not contaminated (avoids false readings on probes). Also bought 45 degree clear adapter with back flush connection to clean black tank). Do search on this forum for lot of info on the GEO method. Good luck!

I haven't got our new trailer to what I consider full load out yet. Probably an extra 100# of gear in the front storage compartment and the galley stocked with pots n pans. Only been able to get out once since buying it but it pulled the same as the trip home.

I will check back with you later, to see what your loaded trailer's hitch weight is!
Best,
