Installed antenna

As a retired Navy guy Iím shouting out a BZ to Forest River!!They got this one right.
One night last fall at 2am raining like double hockey sticks, park ranger pounding on the door standing I two feet of water spouting evacuation orders.Yea had to egress the park.Hooked up the fiver in those two feet of water, and disconnected the electrical cord (what a thrill!) with the wife taking care of the inside stuff. The wife had to drive a car (flat tower) and the G-daughter, dogs, and I following the caravan of campers out of the park to Walmart. After getting on the main road, I ask the GD (whoís memory is ďthe bestĒ) if the DW lowered the antenna? She paused and in-between tears of fright and said no!With wind gust reaching, what I donít know, us now going slower with no place to pull over, and a whole lot of campers behind continued to Walmart.I lowered the antenna once we got back into the RV for the night at Walmart.Iíve inspected it and lubed it and still use it today.

THANKS FOREST RIVER!

Get those little plastic dohickys that either dangle from the antenna crank or attach to your steering wheel. I ran down a guy last summer as he drove off with his up. Now I use these silly things to remind me of little things we often forget. Also as a pilot I have simple check list laminated and posted.
