Investigating a possible purchase.

This is my first post and I’m new to outfitting a RV unit. Although both my wife and I have families that RV’d we never had much to do with the whole selection process and outfitting.

We’ve been looking at and evaluating RV’s for the past 2 years and have possibly settled on what would suit our goals I was hopping I could get some opinions both technical and quality wise on the following set up.

From the numbers that TV will have no problems with that RV. The Flagstaff line is a good line. You should have no major issues with it. An RV that size most definitely will have brakes. You'll need to add a brake controller if you don't already have one. I recommend the Prodigy (in fact I'd, insist on it if it were me). You'll want a weight distributing hitch. The listed tongue weight (TW) is very light so you'll want to make sure to load heavy to the front so as to maintain at least 10% TW. I'd shoot for 12% to 15%. It makes the RV tow much better when you have plenty of tongue weight.
Whichever WD hitch you decide on come back here and ask and we'll be glad to help you make sure it's set up correctly.

My wife and I almost bought an 18 FB but were unhappy with the crawing over each other getting in and out of the bed.so we went with the 21 FB.Our dealer let us have it for $1500.00 more and we are glad we went with it.The only thing we had a problem with was the Concertone ZX75.I replaced it with a different system.Other than that trouble free.Never had to have any warrenty work.I tow with a Dodge Dakoto Quad Cab with the small V8 and have no problems.

I highly recommend the Equalizer WDH. The way it is designed, there is no need for any add on sway controllers. I pull a Rockwood 8315SS and the Eqaulizer WDH keeps me in complete control. When those big rigs pass me on the freeway it stays straight and true, very little movement. I swear by it. I hope this helps. Does anybody know how cold of a temperature the Flagstaff 18 FBR is able to operate at?
