Looking for hitch advice

I'm considering upgrading to an Equalizer hitch. Currently using standard tow hitch with chains and two friction style sway control. I guess i'm looking for advice from people who made the switch or use Equalizer hitches. My F-150 Ecoboost pulls the tt easily but I get some sway.

We have the Equalizer 1000/1200 and love it. It makes a little noise (understatement) when turning but it firm and steady. When we bought the TT we opted to upgrade at the time for an extra $250.00 and it was well worth it. I remove the bars to lighten the load when taking the head off the truck. The head by itself is a tad on the heavy side. The bars make a good workout too. I have never heard of anyone who was unhappy about making the Equalizer purchase.

If you still have P rated tires on your truck, you could be getting sway from them and changing hitches will not correct it. You should have LT LR D or E tires on your truck.

I used to have an f150 and pulled a 27' toyhauler with a rzr in the garage. It had LT tires and an Andersen hitch. It worked great. I used an Andersen hitch. Previous to the Andersen I had a Reese. The Reese worked ok but I am much happier with the Andersen. I'm now using the Andersen on a gmc 2500 pulling a 33'-6" toyhauler.

I have P-rated tires on my truck and have no sway or squirm.

Just have to make sure that the proper inflation prressures are in the TV tires, that's all. No need to change tires in the loads on the tires are within ratings.

I do have the hitch in my signature and it works well.

I towed a 24 ft Sunline with a Toyota 4Runner using an Equal-I-Zer. By most accounts that was too much trailer for a 4Runner's wheelbase. I never had a wiggle using it. In fact, cross winds seemed to affect the 4Runner less when towing that when driving it alone. I use an Equal-I-Zer on my current 21FBRS with a Silverado 1500. Personally I wouldn't leave home without one. They are worth the money.

I had a chain type hitch with a friction sway bar for my old trailer and had all types of sway, issues with semi's and crosswinds.
I purchased an Equalizer 4 point for the Coachman and this hitch is rock solid. I drive 60-65 MPH with one hand on the wheel. Love the equalizer!

I towed a 32' Terry for 15 years with a bar and chain set up similar to the Curt. Towed OK with no sway but I knew when a semi was passing me. New TT has the Equalizer 12000/1200 and a semi passing me is less noticable. It is very noisy when turning but you can purchase an Equal-i-zer Sway Bracket Jacket 95-01-5150 which will cushion the bar and reduce the noise considerably.

Something is wrong with those setups. I tow the TT in my sig with an F150 with the standard chain WDH and 2 friction bars and I have no sway at all even when being passed or passing large vehicles. I run P rated tires as well but I make sure they're at the max PSI when I tow.

We have an Andersen hitch on our 2109/21fbrs and are very pleased with it. Easy to hookup and quick to unhook. No noise and easy to adjust to your load.

Customer service quickly answered my questions when I needed help.
