Low water pressure (with regulator)
I've been using the same regulators (I have two that I keep in my box) on my campers.
The new 2014 831BHDS water pressure is horrible with a regulator on. (I haven't tried with it out)
So my question is:
1. Is it normal to have more regulation/restriction on these new campers?
2. What is a 'safe' PSI on these units??
I'll pick up one of those adjustable regulators if I need to. It was impossible for us to to a shower.

The only reduction would be at the discharge end of your fixtures. This could be due to (Debris or additional screens). Remove and clean.  Youroo!!  Psi is as safe as your Home plumbing!

I would check what youroo mentioned first. We choose to use an adjustable regulator and contraption I put together where we can see campground water pressure and regulated water pressure. Depending on the CG, sometimes we adjust up or down a little. We generally run around 50 psi.

We run a regulator with a gauge on our hook up. It's running about 40/45 psi and we have no issues with water pressure. I'm guessing you checked your water heater bypass and the water pump bypass.

I haven't checked any bypass. Anyone have a good pic of how it should be laid out?
I do get hot/cold water. Both hot cold, same pressure.

I have used the same regulator for 12 years and decided it was a little long in the tooth so I bought a new one. Brass non adjustable on both counts.
The new one cut my water volume down to a trickle. Replaced the regulator with my old one and it was back to normal.
So yes, some regulators do have different flow characteristics. I bought a $12 water pressure gauge from Home Depot, it screws onto the end of a water hose and will be my tool from now on. I'll measure at the CG, if 60 or less no regulator, more, I'll regulate it.
Interestingly, my house at the outdoor spigot, pre regulator, is 100 PSI. My old regulator brings it down to 80 and my new one cuts it down to 40. I just got the gauge, if I remember I'll post my findings at various campgrounds.
Long and short, yes it could very well be your regulator. I was told that 60-65 was a safe max pressure for campers.

Anyone know what the pressure test at the factory is? In sticking to 40/45 as most regulators are factory set at that. I would be afraid over a period of time pressure at 60 will blow out somewhere.

water pressure
I am told by my dealer that the factory tests the water lines at 80 p.s.i.
Above for what it's worth. I really don't know, just what I've been told.

1. This has not been my experience. Other than the natural 'resistance' due to the plumbing there is no restriction downstream of the city water inlet other than possible blockage at the service points.
2. I did a qucik Google of this and it seems that around 40 - 50 psi is the alleged number. However the rvwaterfilterstore.com suggests that RV plumbing is rated at 125 psi but 65 psi is good enough. Don't know the source of their information and I don't trust 125 psi either. I use 45psi on my Watts regulator.
I am a believer in the Watts regulators which regulate the pressure without significant reduction in flowrate. I have the Adjustable 263A Regulator (similar to the 263A-LF) on the same page in the link above (bought from this seller). Now has some rust on the gauge but still works like a champ after maybe 4 - 5 years.

Regulators can wear out. I replaced a cheapie with an adjustable one set it to 50PSI and added an Oxygenics shower head, All that = great showers.

They also get clogged with mineral scale. Very hard to clean even using Limeaway or such chems. Just plan on a new one every 3-5 yrs.
