Micro 25BRDS bunk bed ladder

Afternoon,

Our family purchased the Micro 25BRDS with bunkhouse. Anyone have a unit like this one? If so, have you been able to figure out the best way to use the bunk ladder without it being in the way all of the time?

Thanks, Tim

Tim - did you come up with a solution on this? I just brought home my 25BRDS and I'm trying to figure out solution. I thought about cutting 5 2/8 inches from feet go straight up, now I'm trying to figure how to adjust hook on the top of ladder.

Hey crazyrider!
Well, we have similar thoughts about ladder length. My concern is have the ladder pull on the bunk bed trim, probably pull it off is my guess. I'm trying with the idea of screwing two blocks at edge of bed behind trim and under mattress that the ladder hooks will rest on instead of the trim piece. Thoughts? How do you like yours?

After I just finished installing ladder I saw your reply and my solution was same as yours. That’s funny. I’ve attached results. I used some scrap wood but would recommend using wider cuts, ended up splitting wood on both.

It’s also nice that I can still easily move ladder for better access to under bunk storage if needed. Next step is to add grab handle at top, on the wall.

Looking good! I did infact use a more solid piece and it worked well. I left ours at a little slant so the kids can climb, but will probably have to install grab bar as well.
How do you like so far? It was a great compromise in length/weight/quality/floor plan over other units. I also went to Lowe's and got some clear corner guards to put on the cabinets next to the bed. I hit that corner once...once and realized that it was a good idea as it is pretty close in proximity to getting out of bed or reaching into drawer. Any other mods you are considering?

Follow up on this if it prevents any problem. Thanks.
