I have the murphy bed in my Microlite 21DS. I added a 1.5" memory foam topper and it sleeps wonderfully. Storing the bed and setting up the sofa takes very little time and effort. The usability of the space is most excellent especially for a smaller trailer like mine. With the large dinette in the 3' slide, bed stored and sofa set up, we can easily and comfortably seat up to 7 adults in that small space. Most of my friends are amazed with the amount of space available.

Highly recommend the murphy!

The DW and I love our 25KS and its murphy bed. We put a 3" topper on ours, almost too soft.

GREAT camper . . .

Love my Murphy bed - just hope that nothing happens to the mechanism that puts it up.

The Murphy bed is fine. We added a topper to make it a little softer.

How sturdy would you rate the murphy bed? As for the topper, did you have to cut to size or was it a direct fit? Where did you get it?

It seems sturdy. It uses small hydraulic cylinders to raise and lower. I bought the topper from Amazon. If you order the RV short Queen it will fit. That's very important, if it doesn't say short Queen it won't fit. (It's not a true Queen)

Thanks genehorn. I've seen a few with varied thickness. You think I should shy away from thinker? Do you think 6 inches would be too much?

I bought the Denver 343494. That's two inches. It comes down to preference, I think it will hold a thicker one.

Murphy Bed Modification

We have a 2015 Rockwood Minilite 2304KS with a murphy bed and find it very comfortable. Our only problem is that my wife is way under 5ft and has trouble lowering and lifting the bed by herself. I am attaching a video to show how we solved this problem.
Since this is my first post on a forum of any kind, I'm not sure if this is going to work but I will keep trying till I get it right.

We Love the Murphy bed. It gives us more room and options. The DH was dead set against a Murphy bed until he actually saw it an he loves that we also have a sofa to curl up on. One of the reasons we chose one with the Murphy bed is we had to keep within a certain length to be able to keep it parked at home and not a storage place.

We have a 2304KS and the bed is the best we've had in a trailer yet.

I have a new 2304DS UltraLite with the Murphy Bed -- Forest River has upgraded the matress to a Serta and I can vouch that it is very comfortable. I'm off for my next trip next week and am looking forward to many nights of peaceful sleep.

We have a Murphy bed in our Rockwood 2104S and love it. It sleeps very well as it is firm with the wooden platform. I put a king size pillow top mattress pad on ours that I had previously purchased at Walmart. It had been washed and dried a couple of times and fit the Murphy bed mattress fine. Just enough to add a little more padding but not as much as a memory foam topper. We slept better in the camper than we do at home.

We also love the Murphy bed for the reasons other provided. More living space plus a couch.

Its rock hard! Although the mattress heater works great. I am looking at getting a 2-3" memory foam mattress pad for it.
We decided on the murphy bed so kids and dogs wouldn't be inclined to get on the bed and potentially get it dirty. Its nice to fold it up and its gone!

We will have had our Flagstaff 23 FBDS with the Serra mattress on our Murphy Bed for two years. Very comfortable firm, but that is what my wife and I prefer.
