Need help, camping Friday

We have a 2010 831RKSS. I went to plug in the trailer tonight and found no power, completely dead. Checked the fuse panel inside and it is dead as well. No red lights on the right and a couple breakers on the left were tripped. I reset those breakers and I could hear the water heater kick on then its breaker tripped again.

Is there another breaker or fuse panel somewhere else that I'm missing? The trailer worked fine when we parked it last month. I did have an electrician add an outside 30 amp outlet to the side of the house and we tested the trailer after install and everything worked as it should, even the AC.

Any help would be great as we're suppose to leave Friday afternoon and have the weekend already paid for. Thanks.

Electrician's whom are not campers don't realize this because of the style of plug that's used .
It resembles a dryer plug which is 220v

if that was the case, he would have fried on the initial plug in.

i found my sunset trail similarly dead last weekend. the plug had slipped out partially from the 110 15 amp outlet i had it connected to. i reseated the plug and it must have reset the coverter, because everything returned to life.

If he did the air should have blown immediately but the fact that breakers were tripped sure makes you wonder, check the voltage at your new outlet first.

Not true at all ! A month or so same thing happened to another poster .
They turned air on and seen it worked .
They shut everything off and days later went back and nothing worked.

at a minimum, try plugging into a regular 15 amp 110 outlet using an adapter

I was under the impression that even if it was 220, it's only 110 per leg then the panel in the trailer divides it up as needed.

Aren't campgrounds wired 220?

Not to the outlet there not.

Only one leg of 110 goes into camper.
Other two prongs are neutral and ground

The only way a 110 volt camper uses one leg of a 220 outlet, is when you use a 50 amp to 30 amp adaptor plug/cord.

Campground pedestals can have a 50 amp (220 volt) plug in and an 30 amp (110 volt) plug in.

You can plug your 30 amp trailer into a 50 amp outlet, provided you have an adaptor, which the adaptor only uses one side of the 220, and makes it 110.

I have a bad feeling about this.

In the FAQ forum, Herk posted a pdf file on wiring a 30 amp 110 volt outlet for your home.

Also, you may want to read this: Make sure to check out the links to the left on 30 amp, 50 amp, and outlet testing.

Don't feel bad man this happens more than you think !

At the minimum the converter/ distribution center is fried and not allowing power to the rest of the trailer .

Thanks, I just missed your post when I posted. Is the converter/ D. center serviceable easily? Is it the panel with the breakers or is it buried deep within the bowels of the trailer?

My deepest condolences.

You will need to visit your dealer and call your insurance company.

Plugging a 30 amp camper into a 220 wired RV plug will be an expensive mistake. The panel in a 30 amp camper is a 110 VAC panel and will not "split it up."

Potentially damaged items:

Converter - For sure
Air Conditioner - Maybe
Microwave - Maybe
TV - Highly likely
Fridge - Maybe
Water Heater (if it was on) - For Sure

Hopefully your electrician buddy will help you with your deductible.

Converter is also the fuse breaker panel .
Easily accessible.
That whole unit pulls out after removing screws.

Marcusfan was lucky last month, and got hers repaired for about $400, which included a rv service tech coming to her house and replacing the converter.
