New Flagstaff 23FBS has roof issues....and more
Flagstaff 23FBS, a 2013. We have had it a month, one outing of 3 days. This is a report. First, we like the layout/features. Our second RV trailer. But not the "back for warranty work".
Forest River located the heat/cool thermostat where the heat from fridge operation kept the thermostat too warm to read properly. Resulted in erratic cycling. Dealer had to relocate it. Other issues (shower leak) were minor.
Now I have discovered a major roof problem. The underlayment has separated at a joint line from the foam core, pushing up the rubber membrane. The fix is to remove everything from the roof (A/C, vents, fan, antennas etc.) and install new roof membrane after glueing down the underlayment. How can this unit ever be "right" after that? I now have new respect for those who have gone through delamination scenarios.
So if anyone has had a similar experience with this sort of roof fail, I would be interested in your experience. That is, what can I expect? The dealer said this sort of fail is relatively rare.
