New Larger Refrigerator

Our new TT just came in yesterday afternoon. We are doing our PDI and picking it up Monday afternoon since the service dept. is closed Saturdays. I told our sales manager I would like to look at it today so he had the battery installed, the slides out and the AC on for me. Noticed the refrigerator is different and upon checking Dometics web site they are using a new generation refrigerator now 7 cu ft instead fo 6. Here is a link to the video if anybody is interested. Also the mount for the Furrion back up camera is there.

blue light

Just curious here, did your new refrig come with a blue interior light? Picked up our fifth wheel in May and it also came with the larger frig and backup camera dome. The frig light drives us nuts being blue.

We had to down grade our frig with a 8 cu ft from a 12 cu ft four door frig. Boy were we spoiled with big frig to the point of to buy another 1.7 cu in for the basement.

Tahoe1840: Yes the lights are blue LEDs. We actually like it and there are more shelves than the old 6 cu ft. Also has temperature control that the 6 did not have. 4th day of maiden voyage and it's working great. Did have a flashing light error when we brought it home running on LP. It must have had air in the line. Dealer did a lousy job of getting it ready and the PDI was poor. Tech did not even know the CO/LP decor

Just wondering from looking at the picture... Can you open the fridge with the slides in?

Fridge will open about 10 inches. Enough to get a gallon of milk out.

Thanks

Thanks GL1800, Not sure about the blue light. Tough to figure out what your trying to pull out of the frig. because the blue light changes its color. I am wondering if the light can be replaced for a white light type. Question is "why blue?" Have had no issues with the unit firing up on propane or detecting 110V.
Our rig is the 8528RKWS, 2014 and a half the super slide does cover the frig but as you say we have about 10 inches to pull things out. Our bigger issue is that the slide completely covers the Pantry making it impossible to see in. Have to slide it out if we want in there. Really not a big deal on the frig though (for funfinder).
Thanks again

The bulbs are LED so I would assume they could be replaced with clear ones. You are right about the food color, I looked at some diced ham today and it makes pink look brown.

We just placed an order for a Rockwood 8329SS, which is the twin to your Flagstaff 832IKBS. Once my wife saw that layout we were done looking.

Have you used the new fridge enough to have a feel for how it cools in summertime heat?

Dometic normally puts a fan in the units installed in a slide, is this one noisy like others I've seen complaints on? Just wondering if a fan mod will be in our units future. Can't wait for ours to arrive.

offroad, we have used our refrigerator a lot this summer in all forms of weather, hot and cold. It preforms extremely well. We used it recently in 101 degree heat and without question it did well. Yes, there is a fan noise but we don't find it bad at all, in fact it is a bit of a relief that it is running and doing its job. I would not worry about the little bit of noise at all. The fan will turn on automatically when the outside temp rises to a certain point so it does not run all the time.

Offroad: You are correct, all refrigerators in a slide have a cooling fan since there is no way to vent them. The fan does run frequently but is not really that loud. Much more noise from the AC when trying to watch TV. One thing we do when watching TV is to run off the front AC and it is much quieter. If you are going to camp in a warm climate I highly recommend ordering the second air conditioner, it is well worth the investment.

As far as refrig performance, when we got home I was not able to run the air as I had it parked next door at our neighbors for about a week and the voltage drop was way to high since he is using #12 wire on a 250' run. I am sure the temperature got up well beyond 100 degrees parked in our Florida summer heat (digital thermostat in the front only goes up to 99) and the refrig worked great.

We really do love the floor plan. Sitting in the Lazy Boy recliners to watch TV sure beats craning our necks in our old unit sitting at the dinette or on the couch watching a 12" screen and being able to pipe the TV thru the roof speakers is a plus. You will get used to moving things forward of the island that you need to take out when you get home unless you move the slides out. Same goes for anything in the drawers under the bed or closet.

I finally have it parked in our yard hooked up to my 30 amp pedestal with #10 wiring and will keep the air and refrigerator on all the time. We always left the refrigerator on in our now 15 year old Terry and it worked fine until about three months ago.

We ordered a 15K main unit and the 2nd AC as well, dealer said if you have to run off of 30a service you might as well have a 15K unit to use when your in the living area.

Thanks for the comments regarding the refer, hopefully ours will work as well.

Be sure to post pictures when you get it!! I bet you guys are excited. Ours was ordered 4-14 and we took delivery on 6-30 and it seemed like forever. When it is scheduled for production your dealer should be able to give you the VIN and build date.

I would suggest getting a 30' 50 amp extension cord. We had to use ours the second night out. Ordered thru Amazon it was $104.26 I also ordered a pressure gauge for $13.26 which is very useful as well.

I will post pics, and yes we are excited but trying not to think about it.

Dealer said since we are getting closer to the end of the season it might not take quite as long. But who knows?

What make/model of TV did yours come with? Rockwood told me they are now shipping 40" units with that floor plan now.

Awesome, hope they do the same for us.

Wish there would have been an option for LR D or E tires, hopefully the rims will be rated for at least 65lbs and I'll upgrade them myself.

I have installed the TST TPMS so hope to keep these until they have about 3000 miles on them. After that they will get replaced with Maxxis which I have had very good success with.

If you are interested TST still has the 507RV TPMS at 10% off and are giving you a third year warranty. I thought it was worth it to get the extra year warranty even though the !0% it is still a little higher than a tire dealer in Ohio whose name I can't remember. I have the non flow thru model which was suggested by TST for the rubber valve stems.

Thanks for the TPMS info.

Saw your post on Progressive Converters, what model did your 832IKBS end up coming with?

Also, on the only 8329SS we saw in person, they had two Coleman Mach A/C's installed and had an analog thermostat in the living room but a digital unit in the bedroom. Is this how yours came, and if so I wonder why they didn't put digital units in both ends?

Some people seem to think the analog versions have a pretty wide temperature swing.
