New Owner - 831BHDS

Good afternoon everyone!

I would like to thank you for reading and hosting a terrific website in advance!

My family just traded in our 2006 Fleetwood Orbit 29BHS for a NEW [DEMO] 831BHDS with every option minus the second AC. Two awnings, LEDs, RVQ grill, pleather couches, 2 TVs and more. No ladder though..

(They do put everything in the demo's..lol).

We saw this at a show, fell in love with it and decided to purchase it.

With another child on the way (we have a 3 and 5 yr old daughter currently) what better way then to be able to have a separate bathroom entrance (not wake the soon to come son during his infant naps, but also the bunk / couch area.

She will be towed by a 2005 1500 HEMI 3.92 with towing (has second radiator)

We will keep our new RV at the dealership until the spring, and so the FUN begins....

1. Any pointers???
2. Any things I should have the dealership complete / recalls????
3. I have a CAM system, dealership told me that its not going to work with my truck, but they will swap out what I have now with a new one (no cost)
4. Any additional tips?

I have all season to read within this area, but I wanted to give my warm welcome now event though Autumn is here!

Thanks again for reading!

Yes I have one and love it. Things to know! If you do not like trailer movement after set up, than you will have to stabilize with other means, like JT strong arms or the Winfield jack stabilizers. Word of caution with the hot water tank switch. With electric and the propane on you will get a quicker recovery but the electric pulls 10 amps and you will have a tendency to pop the breaker. The bad part about this is the electric on and off switch is on the outside in the hot water panel. I installed a lighted switch on the inside cabinet to turn this on and off easily. Another thing that no one has mentioned on these forums is that the outside kitchen faucet drains into your black water holding tank, which isn't bad but causes it to fill much quicker depending on how much you use the outside sink. I do like the convenience of this sink though. Another thing I would recommend is changing the thermostat to digital or programmable one. Its really easy to do. Costs about $20 or so and is well worth the money.

Per Winfield's email to me :
Unfortunately our system is designed to work with scissor jacks. It appears your TT is equipped with electric drop arm style stabilizers so our system will not work. The best thing you can do is *get a good set of stabilizing wheel chocks for between the wheels

I am reading and seeing different types of couch material. What is standard/upgrade?

Mine looks like microfiber pleather.
