New to Flagstaff
We are at the point of complete frustration in trying to find the right trailer. We are now considering the Flagstaff 27RLWS, the wife seems to really love this trailer. What I do not know is anything about Flagstaff, its quality, how people feel about this floor plan etc. Also how about support after the sale, is Forest River good? The other brands we have been looking at are the Evergreen Sun Valley and the Open Range Light. How does one make that final decision, as when you read the internet you can find out bad things in general about any brand. Looking for others advice on what they did and how they feel.
Thanks
Steve

We have a Flagstaff Classic Ultralite and love it. Some minor problems were handled nicely by Family RV. One major issue was found and The factory picked my trailer up, brought it to the factory to repair and returned it to me in less than a month and did it on my timetable. Our floor developed a delamination problem from floors that were manufactured by an outside supplier. They have since built their own lamination factory. We have been to the Ultralite factory tour twice and were impressed. We would definitely buy another.

We have been pleased with our Flagstaff. A few minor issues early on were promptly handled by our dealer. We towed 6k miles over 2 1/5 months last summer with no problems. Would not hesitate to purchase another Flagstaff. Also, be aware that Rockwood units are the same as Flagstaff except for decals and interior colors.

We have the 27RLWS and love it. A few minor issues (as they all do). We are currently working a bigger issue with the Torflex axle failure and having to replace both axles under warrantee. Even with that issue, we looked for over a year and found this TT to be the best. There are plenty of manufacturers that all have problems. Some minor and some major. All in all we have, as I said, looked for over a year and found this make and model to be the best for us. Tons of room. Good luck with your purchase and let us know if you have any questions about it.

We have enjoyed ours and would buy another FS. A few issues early on that were handled under warranty, and a few minor issues I handled myself. Keep in mind your pulling a bouncing house down the road, things can happen.
As stated above, Flagstaff and Rockwoods are twins, and come with an inexpensive full second year warranty.

The brochure indicates a radius roof , but it sure looks flat to me. Do they have good run off?

Brochure is correct and the roof is radiused. Just finished one complete 1/2 day of solid thunderstorms and pouring rain and aside from no leaks (yay! except at the attachment between the awning and the side of the trailer) and the rain runs off beautifully ... onto the drains and away from the trailer. Performed like a champ!

We have owed two Flagstaff RVs (new) in the last year.
We bought the big V-Lite bumper pull, 30WIKSS, but we have physical issues that made the WDH a challenge (neck injuries) and traded it in after 8 months for the 5er in my signature. TBH, if we'd seen the 5er we own now when we began shopping, we'd have gone with a 5er to begin with.
We LOVE the Flagstaff brand! I absolutely loved the V-Lite and cried when we traded 'er in.
Just make SURE you buy from a reputable dealer! No matter what you buy, if your dealer doesn't stand behind the product it will not turn out well. Both of our Flagstaffs were bought from the same dealer, same salesman.
Get references on the dealer you're looking to buy from before signing on the dotted line.

I have owned two new Flagstaff MicroLites in the last 13 months. Traded my first on my second. The only issue so far is the Dometic toilet which was replaced with the 310 model under warranty. In fact, I had the dealership swap it out of my first trailer into my 2nd trailer.

I contacted Dometic and had the upgraded model 300 (no smell) sent out free of charge. Send Dometic the serial number and they will tell you if it's the upgraded commode. I didn't want the ceramic commode due to the weight. After, all I don't sit on it to watch tv. You get use to the speaking and crackling after awhile.

I am assuming with the double opposing slide on this model the refrigerator and kitchen are not accessible with slides in? How much room is in-between slides when in?

The 27RLWS has a long counter that is unsurpassed by most trailers. This counter means that when the slides are in not only is the kitchecn not accessible but the fridge is also not accessible. However, when the curbside slide is opened a bit and you can get by then you have access to the fridge.
With the kitchen slide in, there is only abouy 10"-12" of clearance between the counter and the fridge / stove - not enough to get in between, but the fridge door opens no problem.
When the dining slide is in there is no space between the slide and the end of the long counter. With both slides in the space between the sofabed and the dinette is about 18".
The bedroom and bathroom are accessible with both slides in and that is what matters to me.

Seems that I have a lot of questions, are the 14 inch tires adequate , most trailers this size come with 15s, and are they radials?

We bought our Flagstaff V-Lite 30WFKSS this spring. I did a lot of research before we bought and so far we have been very happy. No problems or issues to speak of.

I agree with Wmoses. Most models we looked at had the bathroom blocked off. With the 27RLWS you can actually park at Walmart or the rest stop you can get a good nap and use the restroom without opening either slides. You can even sleep with the wardrobe slide in a well.

porter_lizard, sorry to hear of your issues. As many have said on these forums, having a great dealer goes a long way to resolving those issue that will inevitably happen after your purchase. A poor dealer will do a poor PDI, a poor walk-through when you arrive to pick up your camper and be of little or no help when you need warranty work. Inexperienced buyers will end up with a unit that they should never have accepted and paid for. Without the support of a good dealer, your only recourse is to work directly with the factory warranty rep and possibly go to another dealer with FR's help. FR has treated me fairly despite having bought my camper used without a warranty. Hopefully you'll have success in dealing with your problems through the factory rep.
I'm curious as to why you say the window was broken from from the factory. Did you not catch that in your walk-through?
