New to me

I just bought a used 2014 21FBRS and love it. Looking forward to sharing ideas and stories with other owners. I hope to be doing some long trips this summer and would love to hear stories from others about their experiences in a small unit like this.

I have a 14 21FBRS that I worked out of and used for my time off. I'm an IBEW electrician and work on Nuclear projects, oil refineries, paper mills and large industrial projects. I have been in 15 degree to 100 degree locations without serious problems. I had my doubts at the start due to the floor design, no bottom cover. The techs at FR told me the trailer was designed that way, built over Aluminum and pressed insulated panels. It works. If I searched for one "dislike" it would be the tiny shower but I've adapted. When in 15 degree weather....loved the heated mattress. When in 100 degree weather....loved the ducted AC. I just retired and after Christmas I'm heading south and west. Enjoy your new toy!

We are upgrading from the 18FBRS to the 21FBRS this weekend. We loved the 18 but decided we wanted a north/south bed. Also looking forward to seeing how the ducted air is compared to the non-ducted, which seems to be hard to control temps with. I love how easy the small trailers are to pull and set up. Have fun with yours!

X2 The AC cools quickly and can handle the hottest days in Georgia. Unlike some other models, the tires & axles don't seem loaded to their limits so the tires & bearings both run cool. Small enough to get in and out of many gas stations. Set ups and take downs go quickly & easily. We use it year round. You'll love it. Welcome to our forum and enjoy your trailer!

ArtinNJ, be aware that you have no factory warranty since it is a used unit. You may want to either squirrel some money away for repairs or look at 3rd party warranties.

Congrats! And have fun out there!

We have a 2014 FBRS. My husband and I are retired and it is perfect for us and a couple if grandkids. We took it out a week this summer but plan to use it much more in 2015. It's perfect!

X2 ependydad's comments - a warranty is a nice insurance to have!

And Welcome to the forums and the RV Lifestyle from Huntsville, AL!

Thank you all for the replies and the welcomes. I hope to get out for a shake down run in the next couple of weeks weather permitting. I'll have this winter to get it ready for a busy camping season so I am looking forward to hearing of others experiences with this or similar units. As for the 3rd party warranty, the dealer offered a policy for almost $1,600.00, thought that was high. Does anyone have some good insight into this?
Any way, looking forward to searching this site for info and ideas and getting into doing some mods to personalize my TT.

For some after warranty ease of mind check out Camping World's program. I like their road service and discount services. I have another year on my FR warranty and I'm looking around for a replacement program. I hear FR may do an extended program for their own TT.
