New Trailer

Picked up our new Flagstaff Super Lite 26RBRBWS yesterday from Northgate.

This is our first RV and this is the first of what is sure to be many questions: Where is the battery disconnect switch?

Actually we got ours from the Northgate dealer in Ringgold, GA and they were great to deal with. I posted the same question on the Flagstaff users group on Facebook and got a response and went out and looked where they said and lo and behold there it was sitting under the propane tanks, the last place I looked for it.

Shame on your dealer if he didn't show it to you during your PDI.

You DID get a PDI, didn't you?

Actually we got a great walkthrough. Took over two hours. There are so many features that two days may not have been enough. Sam did a great job.

The battery disconnect is pretty important. Easy to kill a battery (~$125 minimum) if you let it discharge through the parasitic loads more than a time or two. If he didn't show you the battery disconnect, I would say it wasn't a great walkthrough. But to each his own.

Congrats on the new rig.

I would assume you could follow the cables and find it pretty easy. Assuming it actually has one.

Well I wouldn't let one omission detract from a great walkthrough. Since I knew enough to ask this forum about it when we got home I would say no harm, no foul. I had a boatload of questions so his rhythm of many years doing this may have been disturbed by me.

Northgate is awesome! I have 2 TT’s on lots in NW GA that I bought from the Ringgold location. You bought from the best.

Good to know. The only after sale interaction I have had with them is they set up the Equalizer hitch wrong. Drug the trailer back up there from Marietta and gave them another go at it. They still did it wrong. Contacted Equalizer and they agreed it was done wrong. Going to have Pat Rogers Hitches and Trailers correct it this Thursday. I would do it myself but my torque wrench only goes to 300 pounds and the head bolts are supposed to be torqued to 350 pounds. Will probably cost me about $75. When you consider 160 mile round trip to Ringgold I guess it is not a bad deal.

Not going to push it with Northgate as I don't want to poison the well in case I need warranty work done on the trailer.

Sorry to hear that. I would let them know the mistake. Billy is the owner and he would appreciate knowing and would probably reimburse for your troubles. Hopefully it would prevent future issues.

Went to Pat Rogers Hitch and Trailer today and had the mal-adjusted hitch corrected. They did a great job and only charged $65 to do so. Went from there straight to the Cat Scales and verified the correct weight distribution. Getting ready for our maiden voyage. Leaving Sunday afternoon for several days at Lake Altoona.
