New trailer and furnace

I just picked up my TT a few days ago. I turned on the furnace and a newness smell was coming out of the furnace. My smoke alarm went off. Is this is common on a new furnace? How long will this burn in period happen?

Open all windows and doors and run furnace for 30-40 minutes. You need to burn the oils off the heat exchanger.

Perfectly normal. As long as your at it.. might as well kick the oven over and run your stove top burners for a bit too.

your dealer should have advised you to do this, during the PDI.

Your dealer should have ran it during his pre-delivery inspection, so many dealers are using the customer to report defects that should have been found by them.
