New trailer and tank monitor

Today, I just picked up my new Flagstaff 26VFK. Went through the walk through. The person that we went through the walk through demoed the water system. He showed me how the monitor worked and it had water in the grey tanks and fresh water. He said he would empty the tanks. But after arriving home I checked the monitor. This trailer has 2 grey water tanks. One showed 2/3 full and the other was full. So he did not empty the tanks. I emptied grey tank 1, only about a quart of water came out but still showed 2/3 full.
I emptied tank 2 and it now shows empty. What could be wrong with the monitor on tank 1 still showing 2/3 but no water? Anything I can do except complain to the dealer to fix under warranty?

Not really. More than likely it's just a faulty probe. If it would interfere with any plans you have cooking I would wait to take it in. It's possible you may find other issues that need to be addressed after a shake down trip or two. Might as well do it all at once... at the end of the season if you can get away with it... rather then miss the beautiful camp'n weather.

Tank level probes are notoriously inaccurate. Make a note of it and go have some fun.

There are tank/sensor cleaners out there. The tank will need to soak (2-3 days) and then flush. you can also use NuGen dissolver, I do for both black and grey tanks.

That's very true, and good to keep a note in your bag of tricks. In the case of a new rig that has probably only seen clear water in it during demo's, I would be more inclined to think a faulty probe/wiring vs a dirty probe.

I would try filling the tank to about 80%. Then drive it around a little and then dump it and see if that fixes the problem. It could be something on the sensor that sloshing the water around might wash off. Those things will drive you nuts. Worth a try.
