20 ton bottle jack?
Wow that's 40,000 lbs. Remember one should only be lifting one side of the trailer at a time and with the front being on the hitch or the ground it's really less than half. For your example of a 12,000 pound camper divide by 2 and you have 6000 pounds or 3 tons. A 6 ton bottle jack should work fine. My rule of thumb then would be to get a bottle jack rated at the weight of your trailer. Plenty of wiggle room left.
Now if your RV is weighing in at 40,000 lbs. A 20 ton jack is in order
I have a 6 ton for mine and it lifts it with ease.
