I see that delamination was discussed on that thread, but our previous one was Corian, just like the counter tops inside.
Bayou Outdoor ordered us a Corian one for the 5er today.
And yes, the apparatus below it is well described as a "kickstand".
It's hinged and folds down to brace against the side of the RV.
We don't, and won't, use the RVQ that comes with the RV and I think this shelf was for utensils, etc. while BBQing.
We like it as a convenient spot to sit drinks, or bug spray, etc. while outside. It's just a handy, up high spot to sit things right by the entry door under the awning. We used ours *every* time we camped in the V-Lite.
