Possible back up camera location?

Does anyone know for sure if the small black cover up high over the rear window of my 2013 Flagstaff 8528ikws is actually a location (with a power hook up) for a rear view camera to be mounted??

Or is it just a weather covered roof vent of some type??

If it looks like the image I attached, it is the mount for the Furrion backup camera. Under the cover there is an 1/8" jack for 12 volt power that tees off the running light just above it. You can get the Furrion camera and receiver/screen for about $399 through Forest River parts or you can adapt a number of less expensive backup cameras to it. Lots of threads on that here - just use the search on 'backup camera'. You'll also find my thread on adapting a Garmin BC-20 (and associated RV760LM - I needed a new GPS anyway) which works well.

Dave, thanks for the reply.

My 2013 model has a roof vent with a black weather cover---no power available that I could see without actually pulling the weather cover and slotted vent out to see...

If anyone else has mounted a camera in this area I'd sure like to have more info.

A friend of mine took a different approach, since his rig had a window across the back in the bedroom. He mounted a cordless computer camera on the wall below the window-sill, looking upwards. Above the window, he installed a mirror about half the width of the window and angled at 45 degrees. He then uses his small laptop (no longer used for other tasks) on the top of the dash and tunes in to the camera signal.

Nice clear picture, a decent size, already mirror image (since it's looking at a mirror) and no weatherisation issues with the camera.

That's what a salesman told me when looking at a new 5r. T would suppose the the wiring is there, just add the camera and find the receiver connection. (?)
