The wife and I finally are proud owners of a 2013 8528IKWS it's like brand new. The seller was very patient with us the whole time. He also said he will transport it 125 mi. to where we are keeping it as long as we pay for fuel. Great guy. So next year we hope to purchase a vehicle to pull it. Any suggestions? I refuse to get a half ton truck even thought hey say "it's half ton towable ". Will be looking for used 2-3 years old. Gas or diesel?

Although the 8528IKWS is indeed half ton towable, most half tons would be maxed out. I think you are making a wise decision looking for a 3/4 ton. The Ford 6.2 liter engine would do fine, but in a few years you might want a larger trailer or possibly a fiver. In that case, the diesel would be needed. The Ford 6.7 diesel is turning out to be a really strong and reliable engine.

My 2 c

Good luck

There are a lot of post that comment on the 2011 to 2013 6.0 gas chevs as being a solid truck. The 2014 and up 6.4 hemi's appear to be the preferred choice in the Didge line up for gas, this may push the price down a bit on on the 5.7 equipped units.

Diesel units if your patient come up at the right price and are great to tow with!

For a new truck, the Diesel engine will add about $8,000 to the window sticker price tag.
