Radio in Flagstaff 5th Wheel 2016 8529IKBS

In the city I can get radio stations fine. When I am at a campground I can't seem to get a station. I use an AUX chord hooked up to my cheap radio, it even has a cassette player so you know it is old and I can use my speakers in my trailer. Anyone have this problem and what is the solution. My Keystone Zeppelin didn't have this problem, but it had the old antenna on the roof. This one is on the side of the trailer. I even put up my antenna for the TV and that doesn't really help.
Any suggestions or anyone have this problem?
Maybe I need to not listen to country music, lol

Some clarification...

Are you trying to get stations on the radio built into your 5th wheel or on the 'cheap radio' you hook to your AUX cord?

What brand/model is the built in radio?

There have been reports of the antenna not being connected properly to the radio.
Have you pulled the radio and checked?

Mine has an IRV66 and is spotty at best on FM and poor on AM.
I even adapted/connected my roof-top antenna to it (with the amplifier button on) and it helped but only slightly.

Just so happens I am installing an old-fashioned radio antenna on the roof of my Surveyor today. The antenna plug on the back of my no reception radio is connected to a coax splitter which goes who knows where.

The cheap one works it is the built in one. Sounds like when I take it in to have the roof checked and wheel bearings done I will have them look at it. It seems like it is not connected to an antenna.
