I'm contacting the tech. department at Reese in the morning. I want them to get it right.

They will say it's an option, but if you are buying everything new, there's a good chance you can negotiate it in.

Pay close attention to how they install it. It HAS to fit snug ... sometimes they don't pay close enough attention. Crawl into your bed with a flashlight and look at it yourself. Should pretty much touch the complete length of the flats along the wedge.

I would also suggest very strongly that you have them fill the voids in the slots with steel to keep the wedge from moving back and creating slack.

OC I picked up the custom wedge per your advice on another thread back in June. Great advice, it shut down the little bit of play I had in there and is solid as a rock now. It has the slots, so I threw some locktight on the threads of the bolts and it has held in place perfectly. Put a couple thousand miles on it too traveling to Pennsylvania and then a few weeks later to DC.

If I'm not mistaken I'm pretty sure a sidewinder (Reese revolution) is not compatible with a the Curt Q Series. Could be a dangerous situation

There is list of hitches that it will work with on the back side, with the custom #'s. If it ant listed I wouldn't use it. Please do not believe the dealer call Cequents.

Just had a new one installed that Reese sent me, still can't turn it by hand and did the same thing to me all the way home. I'll have to make some sharp 90 degrees turns and then get out and spray some dry lube under the matt. while it is turned. It is a different matt between the turret part then was on my old one. Scared the hell out me when I made the first turn.....
