Refrigerator question.

Refrigerator ran for week and no noise at all when it ran. Now it occasionally makes a whining sound for a few minutes and stops. Dometic. It is warmer now than it was. We were in the 50s for a while. Does temperature inside 5th wheel have anything to do with it?

If I remember correctly, you have a unit similar to mine so can I correctly assume you have the 4 door Dometic RM1350?
If so, there are fans in the back that could possibly be making noise now that the ambient temp is higher. They may not have run before. They are thermostatically controlled. Temperature INSIDE the 5th wheel really has nothing to do with it unless it would be so hot you wouldn't want to be in the 5th wheel anyway.

Well, I'll still assume it has at least one cooling fan.
They (it) will run a few minutes when the temperature in the rear of the refrigerator gets too hot and then stop when the temp drops. Fans are used especially if the refrigerator is in a slide as they don't convection cool with two vents on the side body like those with a roof mount vent at the top.

They are inexpensive fans with no bearings (sleeve bearing) and usually begin to make noise within a few months of use. Many of us have replaced them with good ball bearing fans.

Some are some aren't.
My previous unit were pretty simple to get to.
My latest 4 door model... not so much.
None are really too complicated though.

Do you have to pull refrigerator out? I will begin a search on model needed to replace mine.
