Removing an upper bunk?

Hi there! I posted this on another thread but thought I would give it a shot here. We are upgrading to a "bunkhouse" trailer and wondered if we could remove a top bunk? We don't really need 4 so I thought we could take a top one off. Is this possible or would we ruin the trailer? Can our dealership do it? Thanks!!

I would think you could do it yourself or I am sure the dealer would do it for you (for a small nominal fee). It should not ruin the trailer but there is the possibility of screw holes in the wall or perhaps exposing an unfinished surface where the bunk was attached. I have a swing bunk in my trailer and have thought about removing it as well.

I thought it might leave an unfinished "line" on the walls but nothing a little creativity can fix. I don't really need storage since I would already have an extra bunk on one side. Also taking out the upper bunk on one side makes it roomier and a place for the kids to sit or read.

Sure can...

I removed 2 of my bunks as needs changed. Very easy to do, just remove some screws. Their will be screw holes to deal with. I changed from bunks to a closet and a desk area. Gave us more room in this area also. Also added additional lighting in closet and desk area. These lights were originally over bunks. These were the narrower bunks. We left the larger bunks on the other side in place. Having closet door made at the local cabinet shop to match the other doors.

Along these lines - do you think you can RE-position a bunk? In our Surveyor 305, the top bunk is so close to the ceiling. My 8YO doesn't like sleeping there. Do you think it can be move down a few inches?

With no pictures and just a knee jerk comment, don't see why not.
