Is there anyway to remove old silicone from the side? The dealer moved the scare light and you can see the remnants of the outline of where it was because of the silicone. I tried using a plastic putty knife but it is very stubborn. Also it looks like the dealer possible used some rubbing compound and dulled the shine...
When silicone cures, it is a task to remove. Try using a hairdryer to heat it up and carefully remove as much as possible with your plastic knife. Residue can usually be removed with rubbing alcohol or paint thinner, but wash immediately. A good carnuba (sp?) wax should restore the shine.
