Rotochoks

I read some older threads about the Rotochock--would I also need a tripod under the pin to keep things stable?

Not too many people using a kingpin tripod anymore...pita to carry around and set-up. Wheel chocks like rotochocks, stabilizers such as SteadyFast or JT Stongarm and an extra set of jacks near the axle will make the camper very stable.

I think the roto-chocks will do fine alone, but i like going overboard....so i have x-chocks, front and rear jt stabilizers, and a tripod stand under the kingpin. makes dw happy so well worth it for me. on my tt, i only used the x-chocks and it wasnt too shakey, but our fiver sits higher and is almost 40'long.

They aren't enough to keep our fiver stable enough for us. Even them AND the JT's knocks offs aren't.

My next step is trying the Valterra Stabilizer stand near the axles. We'll see...

I installed the steady fast system last spring. First outing this spring I forgot to tighten the wingnuts while setting up and you can really tell the difference. Still have a little hop while walking around but a set of sizzor jacks at the axels (Old Coots mod) should take care of that.
